24-Year-Old Monroe Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident: Police

Monroe police said the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was not wearing a helmet when he crossed into oncoming traffic Monday night.

Monroe, CT — The Monroe Police Department responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Route 25 near Stanley Road on Monday at 7:03 p.m., police said.

According to Monroe Police Captain Keith White, a 2006 Harley Davidson operated by a 24-year-old Monroe resident was traveling northbound on Main Street when he crossed over the center line into the southbound lane and was struck by a 2013 Land Rover.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle, Forrest Ryan, died as a result of his injuries. Captain White said Ryan was not wearing a helmet. Two of the three occupants in the Land Rover were transported to St Vincent’s Hospital for medical evaluation, White said, while Ryan was brought to St. Vincent's Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

Main Street remained closed for several hours while the Monroe/Trumbull Police Regional Serious Crash Investigation Team investigated the accident.
