Armed Man Robbed Monroe Bank: Police

Police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery at a bank in Monroe Thursday evening.

MONROE, CT — Police are seeking information on an armed robbery Thursday evening. Police say that at 6 p.m., a suspect armed with a handgun robbed the People's Bank on Rte. 25.

Police tweeted photos of the suspect, who is seen in an arm sling and a baseball hat. He is described as being between 25 and 30 years old, standing between 5'4" and 5'6".

The call came in at 6 p.m. Thursday night from a hold-up alarm at People's Bank on Rte. 25. Employees told police just before the bank closed a man ran into the bank and demanded cash from the teller.

He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, and nobody was injured during the incident.
