Car Crashes Into Porch Of Monroe Home, Fire Officials Say

MONROE, CT — The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. said a vehicle crashed into a front porch of a home on Friday night.

"A Monroe family was in for a surprise while making Christmas cookies last evening when a vehicle crashed into their front porch," fire officials said. "The elderly driver was treated by Monroe Volunteer EMS for non-life threatening injuries and the home sustained cosmetic damage after being assessed by the Monroe Building Inspector."

The crash occurred off of Hammertown Road.
