Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. In rare cases, an infection can spread to the blood stream and be fatal, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, more commonly known as staph, can cause a wide range of problems from skin infections to pneumonia, the CDC says.

The Pharmative products are being pulled from stores and distributors, according to the statement.

Anyone whose products fall within the lot numbers above can return them to the retailer for a full refund, the Pharmative statement said. Anyone with questions can call 1-800-276-2878.
