Expect Delays: These 3 Projects Will Snarl Traffic In Monroe
Town officials are advising residents of three projects they expect will impact the flow of traffic around Monroe.
MONROE, CT — Town officials are advising residents of three projects they expect will impact the flow of traffic around Monroe.
On Purdy Hill Road, Aquarion will be working to extend a water main in the area between Monroe Turnpike and Greenlawn Road. Work is scheduled to start this week and continue for approximately three weeks.
On Pepper Street, the first course of pavement was completed in the area between Commerce Drive and Cambridge Drive. Work continues to progress for installation of new drainage infrastructure and is ongoing. Preparations were completed in anticipation of the new traffic signal at Main Street; the project team is working with CT-DOT on a final schedule for installation. Construction for the relocation of a segment of the multiuse trail has also begun. All work will continue during the upcoming weeks.

The State Department of Transportation has advised that they will be resurfacing Shelton Road/Route 110, from the Shelton town line to Moose Hill Road. The tentative schedule is for milling work is Oct. 19-21, and paving from Oct. 31 through Nov. 4.
All of the work schedules are subject to adjustment, particularly in the event of inclement weather. Expect periods of alternating, one-lane traffic in all the work zones.
