Expect Major Delays, Road Closures Around Monroe

See which Monroe roads to avoid for the next few weeks.

Along with delays from local road repair work (some minimal, some major), the state Department of Transportation (DOT) has closed a portion of Route 111 in Monroe for the next 10 days.

Monroe’s Public Works Department will be doing drainage repairs on Moose Hill Road, from Route 110 to the Shelton town line, restricting access to local residents, school buses and emergency traffic only.

Town crews will also be doing catch basin repairs on Cutler’s Farm Road, from Bugg Hill to Cross Hill, with minimal impact to traffic.

DOT workers began work on Route 111 Monday, closing off the section between Route 110 and Cross Hill Road. The project is slated to take 10 days, with the road scheduled to reopen Wednesday, Aug. 20.
