'Good Samaritan' Pulls Driver From Burning Car In Monroe

Fire officials are praising a "Good Samaritan" who pulled a man from a burning car following a collision.

MONROE, CT — Monroe emergency crews tackled a brush fire Saturday evening.

Members of Monroe Volunteer Fire Dept. 1, EMS and police department responded to a 2-car collision on Purdy Hill Road at Teller Road.

The crash resulted in a brush fire, according to a Fire Department Facebook post.

"We are very grateful that a Good Samaritan neighbor helped remove the driver away from the burning vehicle prior to first responders arriving," officials said.

Neither driver reported injuries, but one was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Monroe police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
