'I Just Need the Name of Your Bank and Your Account Number'

A Wheeler Road man told police June 7 that he received a phone call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from the Social Security office.

The caller told him he was going to issue him a new Social Security card and needed to know the name of his bank and his account number, according to police.

When the resident asked the caller questions, police said he hung up.

The resident called the United States Social Security Administration and was told he would never receive a call like that from them and that he should report it to the police, the report said.
