I.D. Thief Tries to Buy a $654 iPad Air

A Laurel Drive man told police Nov. 25 that an identity thief tried to use his credit card to buy a $654 iPad Air and ship it to Houston, but the bank denied the transaction.

Police said Sikorsky Federal Credit Union notified him about the attempted fraud and he cancelled his Visa debit/credit card and will monitor his credit report.

The order had been placed through Newegg.com, according to the police report.
