Injured Driver Rescued From 2-Vehicle Crash In Monroe: FD

The crash occurred Tuesday morning on Teller Road.

MONROE, CT — An injured driver had to be extricated from a vehicle in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Teller Road in Monroe, according to fire officials.

Firefighters had to remove the doors and the roof from the vehicle to reach the injured driver. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The other driver was checked out for injuries at the scene, reported the Connecticut Post.

Preliminary information about the crash was not available, but it was one of several incidents Monroe firefighters responded to over the past few days, officials said on Facebook (see below).

Among the other incidents were:

  • A rollover crash through a fence and into a driveway on lower Elm Street,
  • A two-vehicle crash on upper Elm Street, in which a delivery van ended up striking a tree
  • A student requiring rescuing after the victim got a finger stuck in a table at school
