Menorah Lighting At Monroe Town Hall On Dec. 21

It will be the ninth year Mishkan Israel Day Camp has celebrated Hanukkah in Monroe.

MONROE, CT — The Mishkan Israel Day Camp plans to celebrate Hanukkah with a series of public Menorah lightings Dec. 19 through Dec. 25 in five Fairfield County communities.

In Monroe, the ceremony will be held 6 p.m., Dec. 21 at Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road. It will be the camp's ninth year celebrating the holiday in Monroe.

The ceremonies are all open to the public free of charge and are expected to draw a number of civic representatives such as first selectmen, councilors and first responders, according to a news release. There will be activities for children, light refreshments and musical entertainment.

Mishkan Israel operates a Stamford-based summer day camp, an outreach initiated in Bridgeport in 1945 by Rabbi Israel Stock and his wife as emissaries of Rabbi Yosef Schneersohn.
