Monroe Crews Tackle Tricky Brush Fire
A Red Flag Warning remains in effect throughout CT, with low relative humidity, frequent gusts of wind, and little precipitation.
MONROE, CT — Firefighters tackled a fast-moving brush fire on Elm Street near Stag Lane on Wednesday.
Firefighters from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, along with colleagues from Huntington and White Hills Fire Departments, crewed four engines, three tankers and two brush trucks at the scene for an hour. Elm Street was closed to traffic throughout.

The Forest Fire Danger Level for Thursday, Nov. 07 is "EXTREME," according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. An Emergency Burn Ban remains in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors.
