The Fairfield County Commercial Brokers Network meeting took place Friday, Sept. 30.
On Friday, Sept. 30, the Monroe EDC and Monroe Chamber of Commerce hosted the Fairfield County Commercial Brokers Network meeting.
Monroe's EDC is made up solely by volunteers. Other towns have paid EDC directors. The last time such a meeting was held was in 2007. More than 90 Fairfield and New Haven County Commercial brokers were in attendance. Typically, they get about 50 attendees. United States Senate candidate Carter and U.S. Congressional Shaban spoke with brokers regarding challenges and concerns related to doing business in CT. All candidates were invited to speak. An information packet and self guided tour provided brokers opportunity to view Monroe's 60+ available commercial properties.

The event was held in a vacant retail section of Clock Tower and was a cooperative effort between EDC, Chamber and town departments (Land Use/P&Z) as part of larger/ongoing plan to spark economic growth for Monroe's existing and new businesses.
