Monroe Firefighters Knock Down Kitchen Blaze
A kitchen fire that got out of hand prompted a response from Monroe and area fire companies. BREAKING

MONROE, CT — Monroe firefighters battled a blaze on Monday that left a kitchen heavily damaged, the Connecticut Post reports..Volunteer firefighters from Monroe, Stevenson and Stepney fire departments responded to the 8 a.m. fire on Hillside Lane.
The paper reported that none of the residents of the home or any of the firefighters were injured. Reports state that the fire was caused by cooking on the stove top, and that the smoke alarms were in working order which notified the home's occupant.
