Monroe House ‘Uninhabitable’ Following Blaze: FD
The fire happened Friday morning, according to the fire department.
MONROE, CT — A house on Turkey Roost Road is "uninhabitable" following a Friday morning fire due to heat and smoke damage, according to the fire department.
No residents or pets were inside the raised-ranch style house at the time, and no one was injured.
Monroe Volunteer Fire Department No.1 Inc. posted on its Facebook page that volunteer firefighters responded to the house shortly before 7 a.m.

Firefighters saw heavy fire coming from two bedroom windows when they arrived, according to the department. They quickly extinguished the blaze, containing fire damage to the room of origin and attic, officials said.
The cause is still under investigation. The fire department said it "appears unintentional."
