Why are you seeking this office? Continue the good work we have done on council for a decade. It’s important to keep legislative matters and decisions transparent and in the open. Ensuring we have policies that our townspeople can benefit from and have an efficient and productive experience with town matters.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is the balance between taxes and responsible development, and this is what I intend to do about it. Many families and businesses feel the weight of rising costs without always understanding how decisions about development and infrastructure impact their tax bills. My goal is to ensure transparency and accountability in how taxes are calculated, where they are applied, and what future development means for our community.
I will advocate for clear communication from our council so residents know exactly how local projects are funded and what long-term effects those projects will have. Development must work hand in hand with preserving the character of our neighborhoods, supporting small businesses, and ensuring that growth does not outpace the services and infrastructure we rely on.
I believe our community deserves more than just numbers on a bill—they deserve a council member who will ask the hard questions, share plain-language answers, and invite public input before decisions are made. By creating open forums, publishing easy-to-understand breakdowns of tax impacts, and aligning development plans with resident priorities, I will work to restore trust in local government and give people confidence that their money is being spent wisely.
I will also continue to work closely with our First Selectman, who has shown transparency and honesty, to build a strong partnership based on trust and responsibility to the taxpayer. Together, we can ensure that growth is both sustainable and fair.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? What separates me from the other candidates is not politics, but priorities. Too often campaigns get lost in slogans or finger-pointing. My focus is simple: protecting taxpayers, ensuring responsible development, and keeping government transparent and accountable.
I bring an approach rooted in listening first and making decisions that reflect the real needs of families, businesses, and seniors in our town. Where others may rely on talking points, I rely on facts, open communication, and a commitment to explain exactly how decisions affect your taxes, your neighborhood, and your quality of life.
I will continue to work in partnership with our First Selectman, who has been open and honest with residents, so that together we can create a council built on trust and responsibility. My difference is that I see this role as a stewardship of your hard-earned tax dollars, not a political stepping stone.
At the end of the day, you should not have to guess what your local government is doing. I will make sure you know. That’s the accountability I promise, and that’s the difference I bring.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? In addition to taxes and development, I intend to focus on issues that directly shape the everyday lives of our residents. That includes keeping our neighborhoods safe, maintaining and improving our infrastructure, and ensuring that our schools have the resources they need to support both students and teachers. I want to make sure our small businesses have the opportunity to thrive and that our community continues to attract responsible growth without losing the character that makes it special.
I also believe strongly in open, accessible government. That means expanding opportunities for residents to be part of the conversation before decisions are made, whether it’s through open forums, clearer communication, or better use of digital tools to share information.
At the heart of every issue—whether it’s roads, schools, safety, or growth—are the taxpayers who make this community work. My campaign is about putting their needs first, building trust, and ensuring that every decision is made with accountability and fairness. By working together with residents and local leadership, we can make smart, balanced choices that keep our community strong for the long term.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? My career has prepared me to serve with both discipline and practicality. As an IT executive, I have managed complex systems, balanced budgets, and solved problems that required clear logic and follow-through. Those same skills—analyzing data, weighing options, and making informed decisions—are exactly what residents expect from a council member when it comes to taxes, development, and services.
In addition, my work as a contractor gives me hands-on experience building homes and managing projects from start to finish. That means I understand how development works in the real world, from zoning and permitting to costs and materials. I know how small decisions on paper can turn into big impacts for families and taxpayers.
These two areas of my background—technology and construction—may seem different, but both come down to accountability, planning, and results. I have learned how to listen to clients, deliver on promises, and stand behind the work I do. That is the same approach I will bring to council: thoughtful, practical, and always grounded in the best interests of the community.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? The best advice I ever received was to listen twice as much as I speak. It has taught me that real leadership starts with listening to the people you serve.
