A local woman was arrested for attempted to pick-up fraudulently obtained drugs from a Monroe pharmacy's drive-through.

MONROE, CT — A 35-year-old Stamford woman was arrested on Thursday after she attempted to pick up prescription medication from Rite Aid in Monroe, according to a police report. Monroe police said that in September, Monroe Police investigated a complaint from a local pharmacy reporting they received a fraudulent call from a female, representing herself as an employee from a physician’s office, calling in a prescription for a patient.
Police said the pharmacy became suspicious, police said, and called the physician’s office to verify the call, which they denied making. The suspect, later identified as Lisa Hunter, attempted to pick-up the fraudulently obtained drugs from the drive-through but left when she was asked to come inside, according to police.
Through the investigation police identified Hunter as the caller and learned that she had on multiple occasions attempted to obtain drugs with fraudulent prescriptions in the past as well, police said. Hunter was arrested and charged with illegally obtaining or supplying prescription drugs.
