Monroe Police to Host Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics at Roberto's
Event will take place on October 29th

Officers with the Monroe Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut athletes at Roberto’s Restaurant on Friday, October 29th, from 6 to 9 p.m. Roberto’s Restaurant is located at 505 Main Street in Monroe. During the event, the officers will volunteer their time to assist restaurant staff in taking orders and serving customers. All tips they receive will go to Special Olympics Connecticut to support its year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities. Tip-a-Cop is a Law Enforcement Torch Run activity to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles - celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2021. A highlight of the program is the annual Torch Run, when officers from police departments and law enforcement agencies across the state participate in a three-day run leading up to the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games in June. The program extends throughout the year, as the officers also organize and host fundraisers that include but are not limited to Tip-a-Cop, Cop-on-Top and Penguin Plunge events.
