Monroe's Public Works crews will be shutting down traffic on East Village Road for a few days for emergency repairs to the failed drainage systems. The street will be completely closed to traffic from Route 111 to Robin Lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the work is complete, expected by Thursday. The Public Works Department has labeled the closure "severe," restricting access by all vehicles. Crews will also be doing road and drainage repairs on Culter's Farm Road (from Bugg Hill to Cross Hill), Far Horizon Drive (from Bugg Hill to Harvester) and Moose Hill Road (from Route 110 to the Shelton town line) this week through Aug. 15. These projects will have minimal traffic impact.
