Motorist In Single-Car Crash Narrowly Misses Monroe Church
A motorist missed crashing into St. Peter's Church in Monroe "by an inch," according to fire officials.
MONROE, CT — A motorist missed crashing into St. Peter's Church at 175 Old Tannery Road "by an inch," according to a report from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 on social media.
Monroe volunteer firefighters, police and EMS workers responded to the single car crash at 3 a.m. Sunday. The driver was not injured after hitting a utility pole at the north end of the Town Green before coming to rest further south alongside the church. The impact to the pole resulted in a localized power outage, according to fire officials.
