MONROE, CT — Theresa C. Pauciello Martire, age 83, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023 with her loving family by her side after a courageous 15-year fight. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Matteo Martire. Born in Bridgeport on July 23, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Espedito and Theresa (Capasso) Pauciello and was a longtime resident of Monroe.
Theresa graduated from Harding High School and the Butler Business School, and went on to work at L.P. McAdams for many years before her retirement. She was proud of her Italian heritage and was a great cook who spent many Sundays making gravy for the weekly family dinner. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and cherished great-granddaughters. She will be missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides on the 3rd floor at Newtown Health and Rehab for their compassionate care.
