• Century-old Newtown home severely damaged in Sunday morning fire, officials say (ctpost.com) — Monroe firefighters were called in to help battle a difficult Sunday morning house fire in neighboring Newtown, where a century-old Boggs Hill Road home was heavily damaged. Crews faced low temperatures, downed live power lines, ice, and equipment issues, but officials reported no injuries. The Newtown Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
