Pig, Ducks Escape In Monroe

The pig made it back home, but the ducks are still missing. The escapes happened in separate parts of town.

MONROE, CT — Monroe Animal Control recently had to deal with more than just cats, dogs and the occasional bear sighting. A pig and two ducks recently escaped in separate incidents.

The pig who lives near Route 25 and Pepper Street escaped its enclosure and made it to the next door neighbor's residence Oct. 22, according to the Connecticut Post. It was later returned.

A pair of black cayuga ducks went missing from their enclosure on Meadow Road the same day. The owners worry that they may have fell victim to predators.
