Police Body Cameras Approved In Monroe Schools: Report

Police will begin wearing body cameras next month, according to the report.

MONROE, CT — School resource officers are now permitted to use body cameras in schools, reports the Monroe Courier. The Board of Education approved wording in the School Resource Officer memo of understanding to include police wearing body cameras on school property.

Police will begin wearign body cameras next month. School officials have plans in place to ensure students rights are not violated, said board chair Donna Lane.

The board wanted to ensure the cameras did not violate the Federal Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA), according to the publication.
