Popular TV News Anchor Leaves Connecticut's Fox61

Amanda Raus announced that she is leaving after six years at the station.

CONNECTICUT — Amanda Raus, a Fox61 news anchor for the past six years, announced she is leaving the station for a new "adventure."

A Monroe native and Masuk High School grad, Raus was part of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts at the Fox affiliate, and previously worked at WVIT-TV for eight years.

Raus is married to Fox News morning anchor Todd Piro; the couple's 2015 wedding was announced in The New York Times.

"I want to thank all of you for inviting me into your homes at 5 and 11 p.m. each day," Raus wrote on Facebook (see below). "And before that, during those early morning hours when I worked with the morning news team!

"It's been an honor to work with such a wonderful team for the past six years, but it's time for the next adventure."

Raus did not disclose what the future holds.

Before Fox61 and WVIT, Raus worked at WSHM in Springfield, Massachusetts, and News 12 Connecticut.

She holds an MBA from Hamden-based Quinnipiac University, and earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
