Retired Monroe Police Officer Loses Home In Flood, Community Rallies

A fundraising dinner is being held in support of a retired Monroe police officer and his family after they lost their home in recent floods.

MONROE, CT — The community is rallying around a retired Monroe police officer who lost his home in the recent flood.

“The Monroe Police Union is hosting a fundraiser for retired Monroe K-9 Officer Dennis Bradshaw and his family,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Dennis lost his home in the August 18th flood. The event will be held at Testo's Ristorante on October 14th.”

The event will take place at 5 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Testo’s Ristorante at 505 Main St. in Monroe.

Tickets are $50 per person, and includes an all-you-can eat meal with a cash bar.

All proceeds will help with the recovery of the Bradshaw residence.

“Their family home in Newtown was tragically destroyed in the unexpected flooding on August 18th,” according to the event flyer.
