U.S. Army Veteran Louis J. Horvath, 94, of Monroe, Passed Away
Friends of the Monroe man may call on Monday at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton.

MONROE, CT — Louis J. Horvath, age 94, of Monroe and recently Shelton, entered into rest on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 70 years to Beatrice Henrietta (Lee) Horvath. Mr. Horvath was born in Bridgeport, on December 7, 1922, son of the late John and Annie (Bodnar) Horvath and was a Monroe resident for 69 years until moving to Shelton 3 months ago.
He retired as a supervisor at the age of 59 after working for the Bullard Machine Tool Company in Bridgeport for 32 years. Mr. Horvath served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved to travel with his wife and visit the casinos.
Mr. Horvath is the beloved father of Carolyn A. Karpenko and her husband Ronald and Deborah L. Harrington and her husband Richard, loving grandfather of Kelly Washburn, Scott and Jeffrey Karpenko, Heather Peracchio and Richard Harrington, Jr., and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Horvath was predeceased by 2 brothers, John and Steven Horvath, and 6 sisters, Anna Kender, Irene Hada, Betty Felner, Mary Antalik, Rose Laskey and Helen Toth.

Friends may call on Monday from 3 pm to 6 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Tuesday his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. His burial with military honors will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Friends may leave condolences at www.adzimafh.com.
