MONROE, CT — The Town Highway Department continues its clean-up following this past weekend's record-setting storm.

As of 09:30 a.m. Thursday, the following roads are still closed:

Route 34 east of Route 111 (towards the Stevenson Dam), Cottage Street near Brookside Trail, and Bagburn Road at the Newtown Line. (Note: the Highway Department is working on Bagburn and it may be passable by the end of the day)

"There are many roads in town that have soft areas near the edges and traffic cones have been deployed. These areas are being fixed as well but making roads passable is the priority at this time," Highway Department officials advised on social media.
