3 Charged In Shoplifting Incident At Naugatuck Big Y: Police
Police said three people were arrested and charged after a shopping cart filled with meat was shoplifted from a Big Y store in Naugatuck.

NAUGATUCK, CT β Two men and a woman were arrested and charged Monday after a shopping cart filled with meat was shoplifted from a Big Y store in Naugatuck, according to police.
In a news release, police said a shoplifting was reported at the store around 2 p.m. after witnesses reported seeing a person push a cart full of meat out of the store.
When officers arrived in the area, they found multiple people loading the stolen items into two vehicles outside a nearby Family Dollar store, police said.

As officers approached the vehicles, two men fled on foot, according to police.
Officers arrested Gustavo Guachamin-Tashiguano, 42, after a brief foot pursuit. A second man, Luis Uyana-Guachamin, 31, was caught by officers on the Prospect Street Bridge, according to police.

A woman, Ana Cahuasqui-Ramos, 40, found in a separate vehicle in the Big Y parking lot with stolen meat and two juveniles was also arrested, police said.
Guachamin-Tashiguano and Uyana-Guachamin were each charged with larceny, conspiracy, resisting arrest and risk of injury to a child. They were both held on $25,000 bonds and arraigned in court Tuesday, according to police.
Cahuasqui-Ramos was charged with conspiracy and risk of injury to a child. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to police.
