NAUGATUCK, CT — Police said they are searching for three suspects who were interrupted attempting a car theft.

The three suspects ran from police after an attempted car theft near Highland Avenue, police said.

At 12:45 p.m. Thursday, an officer saw three suspects trying to steal a car after receiving calls about suspicious people, police said. When the officer attempted to make contact with the suspects, they began running from police, police said.

Police searched the area using a K9 and a drone attempting to find the suspects but were told by witnesses they saw three males enter an SUV and leave the area, police said.

Area security footage shows the three people seen by police while investigating, police said.
