Man Accused Of Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest At Naugatuck Walmart: Police
Police said a Waterbury man is accused of concealing merchandise from a Walmart store in Naugatuck inside his infant's stroller.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A man accused of shoplifting from a store in Naugatuck and resisting arrest was arrested over the weekend, according to police.
In a news release, police said officers at a Walmart store on New Haven Road were alerted to a shoplifting incident in progress Saturday around 9 p.m.
Walmart loss prevention personnel reported seeing a man and a woman concealing merchandise inside a stroller containing their infant child, according to police.

When the man and the woman were stopped at the store's exit, they provided inconsistent identifying information, police said.
During their investigation, officers determined the man, identified as Angel Santana, 48, of Waterbury, had an active fully extraditable out-of-state arrest warrant, police said.

When officers tried to arrest Santana, he became uncooperative and resisted arrest, requiring the assistance of additional officers, according to police.
Santana was charged with requirements for recognition of extradition demand, second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer and risk of injury to a child.
Santana was held on a $150,000 surety bond and appeared in court Monday, according to police.
