Man Accused Of Taking Photos Of Teen Girl At Naugatuck Dunkin’ Arrested: Police

Police said the girl's mother said she saw the man zoom in a phone camera pointed toward the juvenile, which led to a verbal argument.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A man accused of taking photos of a teenage girl at a Dunkin' in Naugatuck was arrested Saturday, according to police.

In a news release, police said officers were called to a Dunkin' on New Haven Road around 10:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a possible fight inside the coffee shop.

Officers learned a 14-year-old girl and her father were inside the Dunkin' while the girl's mother was in the parking lot, police said.

According to police, the mother observed George Batza, 66, of Naugatuck, who appeared to zoom in a phone camera pointed in the direction of the teen girl.

A verbal argument then took place between the parents and Batza, which resulted in him leaving the area, according to police.

Officers found Batza a short time later and continued their investigation, which resulted in Batza being arrested, police said.

Batza was charged with second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.

Batza was released on a $15,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to police.

Police also noted they are continuing to investigate the incident.
