• Naugatuck Students Named To UConn's 2025 Fall Semester Dean's List (patch.com) — Naugatuck families have reason to celebrate as several local students earned spots on the University of Connecticut’s 2025 fall semester Dean’s List. UConn also explains the academic standards behind the honor, highlighting the credit, GPA, and grade requirements these Naugatuck students met.
   

• Connecticut once ran on trolleys. Now it's trying to undo a century of car-first planning (nhregister.com) — Naugatuck is in the midst of a major downtown remake, with construction underway to move and expand its train station into a new transit hub at the heart of downtown. Local leaders see this transit-oriented development as a way to revive former industrial properties, boost walkability, and attract new residents and jobs. The project is part of a broader statewide push to undo car-first planning.
   

• Health District Offers Free Radon Home Test Kits (newhavenindependent.org) — Free radon test kits are now available through the Naugatuck Valley Health District for residents of Naugatuck and nearby Valley towns, but supplies are limited to 100 kits. The program, tied to National Radon Action Month, encourages homeowners to test during heating season and provides postage-paid lab analysis. Additional kits can be purchased through the American Lung Association or local hardware stores.
