Occupation:

I am a home care nurse in our local community and have been a nurse for 15 years. I also am a middle school track and field coach, going into my 2nd season

Family:

Yes, I am married and the proud mother of 2 boys and 1 girl. My oldest son Brendan is a junior at Sacred Heart University majoring in Cybersecurity, and my youngest son, Austin, is in elementary school in Naugatuck. He absolutely loves the New York Yankees and plays baseball for our local little league, as well as on a travel team. My daughter is a sophomore at Southern CT state University. My kids inspire me every day, and I'm incredibly proud of who they are becoming. This is my way of giving back and showing them that when you care about something, you step up and do the work to make it better. I want them to be proud of me, just as I am of them.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

I do not have any family in politics or government.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

I spent one year on the finance board before running for Burgess. I have served 2 terms (4 years) as Burgess.

Why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking the office of Burgess because I believe in the importance of responsible leadership, transparent governance, and a strong, unified community. As a parent and a lifelong resident, I am deeply invested in the future of our town. I want to help shape a community where families feel supported, local businesses can succeed, and our shared values are reflected in the decisions that guide us forward. My children inspire me every day, and I hope to serve in a way that makes them, as well as all our residents, proud of the place we call home.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

In my opinion, the single most pressing issue facing my constituents is the need for sustainable economic development that supports local businesses, creates jobs, and strengthens our tax base. I intend to address this by encouraging responsible growth, supporting small business initiatives, and pursuing strategic partnerships that align with the long-term vision of our town. As Burgess, I will advocate for smart policies and targeted investments that not only attract new opportunities, but also help existing businesses thriveβ€”ensuring economic stability and prosperity for all residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

While I respect anyone willing to serve their community, what sets me apart is my proven commitment to service and my active involvement in the growth and well-being of our town. I’ve been directly involved in our current downtown revitalization efforts, working to breathe new life into the heart of our community. I also serve as a local nurse, caring for the health and safety of our residents, and as a track coach, mentoring and supporting our young athletes. These roles have given me a deep understanding of our community’s needs and strengths. I bring not only leadership experience, but a genuine, hands-on dedication to making a difference. I’m running to be a voice for the people, grounded in transparency, action, and a long-term vision for a better future.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

In addition to promoting transparency in local government and supporting sustainable economic development, I intend to address several key issues that directly impact the quality of life in our community. Some of these would include improving infrastructure and public spaces, enhancing youth programs and recreational opportunities, supporting public safety through strong partnerships with first responders, and ensuring that our town remains a place where families, seniors, and small businesses can thrive. I will also advocate for smarter budgeting and increased community engagementβ€”because lasting solutions begin with listening to the people most affected by the decisions we make.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My experience reflects a strong commitment to leadership, service, and community developmentβ€”qualities essential for the role of Burgess. I’ve played an active role in our town’s current downtown revitalization efforts, contributing to projects that support local businesses and strengthen community pride. As a nurse, I’ve been on the front lines of care, earning the trust of residents and developing a clear understanding of the everyday challenges families face. Additionally, my role as a track coach at our local middle school has allowed me to mentor our youth and promote teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. These experiences have taught me how to lead with compassion, make informed decisions under pressure, and stay focused on long-term goalsβ€”all of which I will continue to bring to this role if given the opportunity.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

The best advice I ever received was to believe in myself, even in moments when it feels like others may not. That mindset has helped me stay resilient, focused, and confident in pursuing goalsβ€”especially when faced with challenges or uncertainty.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I want voters to know that my commitment to this community is both personal and deeply rooted in service. As a parent, healthcare professional, coach, and active participant in our town, I understand the diverse needs and aspirations of our residents. I believe in leadership that listens first, acts with integrity, and prioritizes the well-being of all citizens. My goal is to foster a transparent, inclusive, and forward-thinking government that works for everyoneβ€”not just a few. I am ready to bring dedication, empathy, and practical solutions to the office of Burgess, and I humbly ask for your trust and support.
