Police Cruiser Struck By Car, Officer Injured In Naugatuck: PD
Police said a Waterbury man is accused of striking a police cruiser with his vehicle, then leaving the area.
NAUGATUCK, CT — A Waterbury man is accused of striking a police cruiser with his vehicle, then leaving the area Wednesday night in Naugatuck, according to police.
In a news release, police said an on-duty officer was driving through a roundabout at the intersection of Meadow Street, Rubber Avenue and Cherry Street around 6 p.m. when his marked police cruiser was hit by a black Audi.
The Audi then left the area and was later stopped near Elm Street, police said.

According to police, the officer sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
The driver was identified as Jordan Montini, 21, of Waterbury. He was charged with evading responsibility resulting in injury and property damage, as well as failure to grant right of way at an intersection.

Montini was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to police.
