She Inspires, Provides Hope And Support To All: Naugatuck Hero

NAUGATUCK, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes

This submission comes from Rebecca Palm, of Naugatuck, who nominated Jill Mahoney, of Naugatuck.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Jill is a pillar in our community, in addition to providing the diaper bank to families in need she has given so many parents, including myself so many opportunities in furthering our education to become parent/community leaders at no cost to us.

With these opportunities I've found my life's passion and am now motivated and have the confidence and education to pursue my goals in which has lead to my being able to provide a healthier & more financially stable life for myself & children. I've witnessed so many parents and children flourish because of jill and the resources she works so hard to gather to offer our communities families.

Jill also runs Naugatuck's monthly mobile food pantry that is free to all in which most recently served & helped 400 plus head of households put food on our tables this month not to mention that Just last week an additional 100 seniors received hefty food boxes of non perishable food items to help them through this extremely difficult & vulnerable time.

Jill also makes sure that families are able to have nice holiday meals and that their children have winter coats hats & gloves to get through the winter. The list does not end here. Jill's heart of gold has been passed along to all of her children in which I personally want to also thank her daughters Mackenzie & Tara who help our communities children in so many ways also.

Everything that jill does is for the sole purpose of helping another family. Throughout helping these families I hope she knows that she also provides these families with inspiration, hope, motivation and even the strength to take leaps as a parent to become leaders that in return betters themselves as people all around, in which creates a platform to build stronger, healthier foundations as a family.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Jill is the most selfless & strongest woman i know.. She is truly an inspiration to all. I can't seem to figure out when she could possibly have time to relax or do something nice for herself my wish for her and her family is a life time of nothing but all things wonderful.
