Son Accused Of Killing Parents In Waterbury: Police

The victims were fatally shot late Monday at a home on Beverly Avenue, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A man has been charged with shooting and killing his parents at a home on Beverly Avenue Monday night, police said.

Police on Wednesday identified the suspect as Javian Adams, 25.

The victims were his parents: Carlene Williams, 52, and Marc Adams, 55, according to police.

Javian Adams is charged with murder with special circumstances, murder during the commission of a felony, criminal use of a weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree larceny of a motor vehicle, and criminal possession of a firearm, Waterbury police said.

He was apprehended in Watertown for entering a residence, according to police. Watertown police charged him with first-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

Waterbury Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo said Javian Adams “had a significant history of domestic violence,” and he was on probation for a prior arrest involving domestic violence at the time of this double homicide.

Spagnolo said the shooting happened at 176 Beverly Ave. around 11 p.m. Monday.

When police arrived, they discovered the two victims dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside the residence, police said.

Police by Tuesday afternoon had already developed a person of interest.

Waterbury Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit worked in cooperation with the Watertown Police Department.

Javian Adams is being held on $5 million bond, and he is due to be arraigned in Superior Court in Waterbury today.

The investigation is ongoing.
