Waterbury Man Accused Of Operating Drug Factory

WATERBURY, CT — A Waterbury man is facing narcotics charges after police found 480 bags of fentanyl in his car Monday afternoon, police said Friday.

Police said they first spotted an "occupied suspicious vehicle" while patrolling a city-owned parking lot on West Main Street.

The driver, later identified as 59-year-old Phillip Anthony, also had $825 in cash, according to police.

Anthony has been charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory, police said.

He has a prior criminal history that includes multiple narcotics-related convictions and is being held on a $50,000 bond by the Connecticut Department of Corrections.
