A decorative cement bench has been stolen from the Lakeview Cemetery the second such incident in roughly two months, New Canaan police said this week.
According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a 45-year-old New Canaan man reported that he'd gone to a plot at the cemetery and discovered the bench was missing. He reported it had disappeared sometime between May 24 and June 2, Ogrinc said.
The bench was described as being large enough for at least one or two people, and Ogrinc said it was the second such incident reported regarding cement benches in cemeteries in as many months.
An investigation is ongoing.
