New Canaan Food Pantry Launches Online Wish List

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Food Pantry, one of the Human Services Department's longstanding programs, has launched an updated online wish list supporters can use to select needed items to donate and have them shipped directly to the food pantry from the comfort and convenience of their home.

In a news release provided by the town, New Canaan Human Services Director Marcella Rand said wish list items are only suggestions and other items are happily accepted as well.

Every donation supports New Canaan neighbors in need, according to Rand.

Donors still have the option of delivering a check through the U.S. mail or in person at the annex behind Town Hall, as well as dropping off items directly to the food pantry housed at St. Mark's Church.

More information, including a link to the food pantry wish list, can be found on the Human Services Department section of the town website.

According to Communications Associate Greg Reilly, the Human Services Department offers New Canaan residents access to a range of supportive services, including guidance on benefit eligibility, case management and counseling.

The team of professionals assists in times of crisis and provides support for mental health, substance use concerns and domestic violence. Emergency financial assistance is also available, Reilly said.

All client information is kept strictly confidential, according to Reilly.
