New Canaan Human Services Launches Online Donations Portal
The department has introduced an online donations portal residents and friends can use to send financial support electronically.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Human Services Department recently introduced an online donations portal residents and friends can use to send financial support electronically to members of the community in need.
In a news release provided by the town, Communications Associate Greg Reilly said Human Services relies on private donations to deliver much of its targeted support throughout the year.
Donors can now send money with just a few clicks in a secure online portal, as well as target their support to specific programs, including:

- Food Pantry – Nutritious meals for individuals and families.
- Domestic Violence Services – Support and resources for survivors.
- Back-to-School – Supplies and support for students to succeed.
- Holiday Program – Gifts and essentials for families during the holidays.
- Warm-Up Fund – Heating assistance for those facing cold winters.
- Most Needed – Allows the department to allocate the donated funds to the program with the most-urgent need.
"This user-friendly platform makes it easier than ever for residents and friends to support the vital programs that help our community thrive," New Canaan Human Services Director Marcella Rand said in a news release. "The donations ensure that we can continue to offer these services to those who need them most. Together, we make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors, and we couldn't be more grateful for the ongoing support."

According to Reilly, the Human Services Department offers New Canaan residents access to a range of supportive services, including guidance on benefit eligibility, case management and counseling.
The team of professionals assists in times of crisis and provides support for mental health, substance use concerns and domestic violence. Emergency financial assistance is also available, Reilly said.
All client information is kept strictly confidential, according to Reilly.
