DUI Charge for New Canaan Man, 19, on Main Street
Police said his blood-alcohol limit was more than three times above the 0.02 limit for those under 21 (the limit for older drivers is 0.08).

After 19-year-old New Canaan man was stopped by a police officer who saw his vehicle straddle the double-yellow lines, the driver’s slurred speech and the odor of alcohol showed he had been drinking, police said.
The phony driver’s license (wrongly indicating he was over 21 years old) and a small baggie of marijuana found in his pants pocket resulted in additional charges against him, according to police.
New Canaan police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the matter:

Peter Webb Jr., 19, of West Road was driving a black Chevrolet SUV north on Main Street near Maple Street at about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, when a police officer saw the vehicle go over the yellow lines, then straddle them for a short period. The officer stopped the SUV.
In addition to having slurred speech and the odor of alcohol about him, his eyes were bloodshot.

When asked for his driver’s license, Webb went through his wallet and initially took out one license — but he then put it back and said that wasn’t it. He gave the officer the correct license.
But the officer asked to see the first one. Webb said that one was fake. It had Webb’s name and picture on it, but the date of birth indicated Webb was over 21 — old enough to drink.
The officer patted down the driver. In Webb’s right front pocket, the officer found a small baggie with a green, leafy substance in it that was identified as marijuana.
Webb did not pass a field sobriety test at the scene. He agreed to let the officer search the SUV, and the officer found a can of “Four Loko,” a malt liquor, on the floor in front of the driver’s seat.
Webb was charged with driving while under the influence, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana (an infraction) and possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years old. When his alcohol level was tested at New Canaan Police Headquarters, it was more than three times above the 0.02 legal limit for drivers under 21 (the limit for drivers over 21 is four times that — 0.08).
His bond was set at $250, which he did not post, and he was taken to state Superior Court in Norwalk the next morning.
