It looks like the weather for the week kicks off with highs in the 70s and lows in the 80s though, save for some scattered thunderstorms predicted for Tuesday, the skies look relatively clear, according to weather.com.
In local government happenings, there's a Board of Finance meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the New Canaan Nature Center. There's also a Fire Commission meeting Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., at the fire department. The Town Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday was canceled, but there will be a special Town Council meeting on Thursday, 7:30 a.m., at the New Canaan Nature Center.
At the New Canaan Library this week, Oz: The Great and Powerful is playing Monday at 4 p.m., Princess Storytimes is going on Wednesday and Thursday's a busy day with Jamie Cat Callan visiting for Author's on Stage, the Summer Reading Grand Finale! and the teen summer reading program SLERP has a lock-in.
Registration for Fall 2013 programs at the YMCA begin Monday. You can register online or in-person. Check out the brochure here. Programs run from September 4 to November 26.
Additionally, the deadline for Fall 2013 soccer in New Canaan is Monday at 4 p.m.
