Police Arrest Drunk Man Who Drove Through 3 Towns Without Tire After New Canaan Crash: Report

An intoxicated man reportedly crashed in New Canaan then drove on rims through Ridgefield, Wilton and South Salem before police stopped him.

New Canaan, CT — A Monroe man who Wilton police said fled an accident in New Canaan and drove drunk through three towns with a missing tire was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, unsafe tires and the illegal storage of narcotics, according to the Connecticut Post.


Richard Cannone, 42, was stopped by Wilton police officer Mark Canepari who observed the suspect’s vehicle traveling south on Danbury Road with its front left rim scraping the road at about 2:30 a.m., the report said.

New Canaan police tracked his trail from the scene of the accident through South Salem and Ridgefield then into Wilton, according to the report.
