If you're out near Saxe Middle School Thursday, don't be worried if you see a large police presence. There will be an exercise going on for most of the morning, from about 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where New Canaan will place host to a number of local, regional and federal emergency response teams as they practice an active shooter scenario, according to Public Safety Director Mike Handler.
