1 Charged After 3 Armed Males Carjacked A Victim On Orchard Street: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Saturday night around 8:30 p.m., cops responded to an armed carjacking in the area of Orchard and Henry streets, police posted to "X."
According to police, the victim called 911 and reported they'd been in their parked car when three "males" all armed, approached the car, pointed their firearms at the victim, ordered them out of the car then fled on Orchard toward Dixwell Avenue.
A short time later, police said, they found the car in Fair Haven, but the driver fled. Police said they were able to deploy stop sticks, and after a pursuit, the driver was eventually stopped in the area of Sherman Avenue and Elizabeth Street.

Curtis Gibbs, 41, of New Haven was detained and ultimately arrested and then charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer, engaging in a police pursuit, reckless driving and failure to obey a police signal.
There were no injuries reported, cops said.
