Update: Victim In Fatal New Haven Fire Identified, 10 People Displaced

Ten people are without homes, a firefighter was injured, and, a 32-year-old New Haven man was killed in Sunday's deadly Elm Street fire.

NEW HAVEN, CT — One person died and 10 were displaced by a fire before dawn Sunday, according to police.

Police and fire officials responded shortly before 6:30 a.m. to a house on Elm Street near Kensington Street, authorities said.

The victim, a male, was pronounced dead at a hospital, Monday, police released the identity of the man who was killed in the deadly blaze, Kenneth Mims, 32, of New Haven.

A firefighter also suffered an injury that was not life-threatening, police said.
