1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In New Haven Shooting

BREAKING: The shooting took place Saturday afternoon. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

NEW HAVEN, CT — One man was killed and another is in serious condition after a shooting in New Haven Saturday afternoon, police said.

Officers were dispatched to investigate reports of gunfire by the city's "ShotSpotter" system on Dickerman Street between Sperry and Orchard Streets around 1:20 p.m. Police received several subsequent 911 calls reporting that two people had been shot.

Authorities located two adult men who had suffered from gunshot wounds, both of whom were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

One of the victims, identified as Norman Boone, 27, of New Haven, has died. The second victims, who has not been identified, is in serious condition.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 203-946-6304. Calls may be made anonymously.
