2 Accused Of Dealing Crack, Fentanyl In Hill Neighborhood: Police
Around Davenport Ave. and Kossuth St., cops arrested, charged 2 New Haven men with dealing crack, fentanyl, and 1 man with having gun: PD.

NEW HAVEN, CT — While in the Hill, cops "assigned to a crime suppression detail focusing on quality of life concerns" charged two men with selling crack and fentanyl and one with gun possession among myriad other charges.
New Haven police said it was early Friday morning when cops "developed information that residents of a house in the area of Davenport Avenue and Kossuth Street were selling crack cocaine and fentanyl."
While watching the house, police said, they saw "a man they knew from prior arrests." Police said Jeniel Colon-Talavera, 24, was "conducting hand-to-hand drug sales." Police said they arrested him without incident.

Police said they also saw Alfredo Santiago-Velasquez, 56, "sitting in a vehicle with narcotics in his lap in the process of packaging them in a bag."
Police said Santiago-Velasquez was in possession of a stolen 9 mm handgun with an extended magazine, as well as crack and fentanyl.

Both of New Haven, Santiago-Velasquez was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a high-capacity magazine, having a weapon in a motor vehicle, and theft of a firearm.
Colon was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.
