2 Days, 3 Men, 3 Gun Arrests, One At Tweed Airport Where TSA Found 2 Ghost Guns: NHPD
A 21-year-old New Haven man said the 2 ghost guns TSA discovered in a carry-on bag belonged to a friend, and he had no idea the contents: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Over two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, police made three separate gun possession arrests of local men. One was charged after TSA found two polymer 80 Glock style, lower receivers, which were operational and had functional triggers, but no serial numbers. Another arrest during a Fair Haven crime suppression patrol, led to cops chasing a man they said appeared to be doing a hand-to-hand drug deal, and found him to also be in possession of a polymer gun, a loaded one. Another case had cops called to a parolee's residence where a probation officer had found a stolen pistol loaded with a high capacity magazine.
At 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers assigned to a crime suppression detail in Fair Haven, "Saw a male who they knew from previous firearms arrest, identified as Dayquan Cherry, 21, loitering with several other males in front of a house in the 200 block of Lawyer Lloyd Street and engaging in what appeared to officers to be hand-to-hand narcotics transactions," police said. Cherry attempted to run from officers, but was quickly detained and was found to have 19 bags of crack packaged for sale, several hundred dollars, and a polymer 80 pistol, which was loaded.
Cherry, a convicted felon who was also arrested for gun charges in May, was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from Connecticut State Police. He was charged with criminal possession of a pistol, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a narcotic substance with the intent to sell, possession of a narcotic substance, possessing a firearm without a serial number and interfering with police. He's held on $200,000 bail.

Earlier than morning, police were called to Tweed New Haven Airport where TSA told them "two items resembling firearms were located in a carry-on bag which had been scanned prior to boarding." "Inside the bag officers located two polymer 80 Glock style, lower receivers, which were operational and had functional triggers, but no serial numbers," police said. The bag's owner Dylan Pellot, 21, of New Haven claimed he did not know what was in the bag as it belong to a friend. He was charged with circumventing TSA and sale and/or delivery or transfer of unfinished frame. He was held on $100,000 bond.
It was 11 a.m. when officers, assisting the Department of Parole, when they are located an illegal firearm during a compliance check on the home of Dyjhaune Brown, 20, a convicted felon who is not legally allowed to possess a gun. The pistol, which was loaded with a high capacity magazine, was reported stolen from another state. Brown was charged with theft of a firearm, large capacity, firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm his parole status was terminated, and he was taken into custody.
